Why This App
Sumi-e is sold as a stereotype of Japanese aesthetics - a black circle, a mountain silhouette - almost never explained as a discipline where every stroke is a one-time, unrepeatable decision. Sumi-e Ink starts from something anyone can describe in a sentence - a scene, a feeling - and turns it into a real technique, an honest explanation of why that technique produces its effect, and the historical school behind it, turning a familiar image into a craft worth actually understanding.
